LYRICAL BLUE APPEARS IN LOVE ON THE SPECTRUM
I was recently thrilled to discover that one of my most popular paintings, Lyrical Blue, made an appearance on a recent episode of Love on the Spectrum. In honor of that moment, I was inspired to create a new, original version in the same spirit.
Although I haven’t watched the episode myself, Love on the Spectrum hits a little too close to home. I was deeply moved by the connection. As a mother of two adult sons who are both on the spectrum, I understand the challenges neurodivergent individuals often face in forming meaningful relationships. It’s a deeply emotional journey, and a times, a painful one to witness.
My older son, who is 25, has even expressed a desire to be on the show someday. It makes me wonder - could this painting somehow be a bridge to making that dream a reality? What a beautiful, full-circle moment that would be.

“About 1 in 36 children and 1 in 45 adults in the United States have autism, according to the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Worldwide, about 1% of the population, or 75 million people, have received a diagnosis of autism, says the advocacy organization Autism Speaks. Autism spectrum disorder, or ASD, is categorized by a range of symptoms, including various challenges with social communication and interaction, but many adults on the spectrum still desire to lead active social lives.” - CNN
