LONG'S PARK ART FESTIVAL

  • Long's Park 1441 Harrisburg Pike Lancaster, PA, 17601 United States (map)

The Long’s Park Art Festival is September 1-3, 2023 and recognized as one of the nation’s best outdoor fine arts festivals. In 2019 ArtFairCalendar.com listed Long’s Park as the 4th best festival in America and the top festival on the East Coast!

Held on Labor Day weekend, artists and volunteers turn this idyllic city park into a prestigious outdoor art gallery showcasing handmade fine art & craft. Guests from the mid-Atlantic area (Washington, New York, Baltimore, Philadelphia, Wilmington, Harrisburg and Lancaster) arrive to purchase works by returning and new favorite artists. Extensive advertising & social media campaigns are directed to specific households in these regions.

The show is presented by the Long's Park Amphitheater Foundation, a nonprofit dedicated to Enriching Lancaster through Art and Music. Proceeds from the Festival benefit the Art Festival itself and the Foundation’s free summer concerts.

FESTIVAL HOURS:

The first Art Festival in Long's Park was held July 4, 1976 and was presented by the Lancaster County Bicentennial Committee. The success of the event drew the attention of Long’s Park Amphitheater Foundation (LPAF) leadership, who were looking for a new funding source for the amphitheater.

A partnership was struck with the twin goals of creating a quality Art Festival in Lancaster PA, while raising funds for the foundation and its cultural initiatives like the music series. The first Labor Day show in 1979 was held in conjunction with LPAF’s annual day of music, featuring 87 artists and craftspeople.

The Art Festival now welcomes thousands of visitors each year over Labor Day weekend and hosts 200 exhibitors who are chosen through a competitive jury process.
